Home to a number of Palestinian activists, poets, artists and musicians, Ramallah is often considered the most affluent and liberal of cities in Palestine. Predominantly a Christian town until the end of the 18th century, it continues to have one of the most diverse populations in the West Bank and boasts a vibrant arts and culture scene.
